Sally is kind, sensitive, honest and very intelligent. She is restless at being constantly kept under lock and key by Dr. Finklestein and is intrigued by the outside world.
  
She is repeatedly restrained by Dr. Finklestein, her overprotective creator, and is also in love with Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King.

Her curiosity, or rather her desire for a better life, is what draws her to Jack Skellington.
